UltraDefrag - небольшая и функциональная программа для дефрагментации жестких дисков компьютера. UltraDefrag позволяет наглядно, с помощью карты кластеров, показывать процесс дефрагментации. Отдельно показывает названия фрагментированных файлов. Будет полезна как обычным пользователям, так и продвинутым, а также программистам. Имеется консольный режим, позволяющий запускать программу по расписанию. UltraDefrag может генерировать отчеты в формате HTML.


UltraDefrag is an open source disk defragmenter for Windows NT 4.0 and later operating systems. It is very fast, because the defragmenting is done by kernel-mode driver. UltraDefrag makes use of the same defragmenting API used by many other windows defrag utilities, both open and closed source. However, UltraDefrag has many features that makes it unique. Firstly it has a kernel mode driver that does most of the work, secondly is the ability to run the application at boot up time in a manner similar to chkdsk. This allows for faster defragmentation time and the ability to defragment all files including system files. It can also defrag single file or multiple directory and can generate a list of all fragmented files. The program is available for both 32bit and 64bit version of Windows running on both AMD and Intel based processor. There are three interface available: Graphical, Console and Native. The UltraDefrag Micro Edition is a special package for advanced users who prefers extreme stability and power.

This edition is a little bit faster, much stable (its driver contains just most important parts). It has console interface to speed up defragmentation process. Boot-time feature is available too. The Micro Edition saves reports in plain text format.

Changes in UltraDefrag 4.2.0, 2010-03-30:
- multiple drives selection feature was added to GUI and Scheduler
- progress indication was improved to be more detailed and smooth
- defragmentation and optimization speedup was performed
- --all, --all-fixed command line switches added to the console interface and to the boot time defragmenter
- boot time interface initialization speedup was performed
- boot time interface interactive mode commands set changed to be the same as in scripting mode
- HTML reports encoding was changed to UTF-8, which renders nicely in all popular web browsers including Internet Explorer
- plain text reports were improved to be more readable
- the following translations were updated: Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, Polish
- a bug preventing true Unicode paths from being displayed in file fragmentation reports was fixed
- shutdown confirmation dialogs were added to GUI
- one additional check preventing the boot time defragmenter from running in Windows Safe Mode was added
- one little bug causing a wrong progress bar appearance on Windows XP default theme was fixed
